西表島での探鳥
西表島では一泊して、夜間および早朝の探鳥も楽しんだ
ので探鳥時間の合計は約１０時間位だったかと思います。
夜間の探鳥ではリュウキュウコノハズクやアオバズクの
鳴き声が闇に満ちて活発に飛び回り、学校の芝生の庭で
餌を探して思いのほか敏捷に動き回るズグロミゾゴイの
姿が印象的でした。
早朝の探鳥も楽しかったです。
アカガシラサギ、シロハラクイナ、ギンムクドリ、ホオ
ジロハクセキレイ、シベリアハクセキレイなどの姿が脳
裏に焼き付いています。
昼間の探鳥ではカンムリワシの姿は至る所で見かけ、その
数は石垣島より多いそうです。
前回個人的に行ったときには見つけられなかったムラサキ
サギにも会えました。
ヒヨドリやサンショウクイ、シジュウカラなどどの種も
本土の種より全体的に色が濃かったです。
